David Clarke förhåller sig i sitt konstnärliga arbete ohämmat till traditionella tekniker och material. Med en lekfull och experimenterande inställning skapar han objekt som förvånar och utmanar. Nu kommer han till Steneby och visar sin utställning Fit for Nothing i konsthallen. I samband med vernissagen ger Clarke en öppen föreläsning: The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing but The Truth.
Förutom sin konstnärliga praktik arbetar David Clarke som lärare på bland annat Konstfack, Bergen National Academy of the Arts och The Royal College of Art i London. Han har även kurerat utställningar i Tyskland, Storbritannien och Sverige.
A ’pick and mix’ of ’odds and sods’ from the last 8 years reveals the curiosity that Clarke brings to the field of Corpus. Playing with intention to break down some of the traditions this craft holds onto by bastardizing materials and twisting function, Clarke develops a new visual language through a wealth of covetable objects.
