Petra Hultmans utsällning Trevnad. Trygghet. Tillväxt. öppnar i Steneby konsthall 19.00 men först berättar hon om andra spår i hennes konstnärliga praktik.

I Petra Hultmans examensverk utgör farmor Marys och farfar Hildings flitiga handarbeten och snickerier i relation till hennes eget konstnärliga arbete utgångspunkten för ett undersökande av relationen mellan arbete, tid och värde samtidigt som det ställer frågor kring ideologier, ideal och identitet.

Petra kommer att prata om hur hon arbetar med andras hantverk, handens arbete och syjuntan som mötesplats och bärare av politik och samhällskritik.

The exhibition Trevnad. Trygghet. Tillväxt. by Petra Hultman opens in Steneby konsthall at 7 pm, but first she will talk about other traces in her artistic practice.

In Petra Hultman’s examination work the diligent handicraft and carpentry of her grandmother Mary and grandfather Hilding in relation to her own
artistic work form the basis for an investigation of the relationship between work, time and value while posing questions about ideologies, ideals and identities.

Petra will talk about how she works with other people’s craft, the work of the hand and ”syjuntan” as a meeting place and bearer of politics and social criticism.
